April 21 – Waterwalk (Movie)

Shot on location in Newaygo and Muskegon counties and across the Midwest, the film features some of the region’s best known scenery and actors. The story of a suddenly unemployed workaholic dad who takes a dangerous 1,000 mile canoe trip with the adopted son he barely knows, Waterwalk is based on the true story of Steve and Justin Faulker’s attempt to become the first single canoe team to retrace the dangerous discovery route of the Mississippi from St. Ignace to St. Louis.  Braving rough water, big storms, flood stage rivers, and portaging larger sections of the heavily dammed Fox, the Faulkers nearly run out of money, become local celebrities, and confront the ultimate challenge, boredom. This event will feature local cast and members of the production team who shot key scenes on the Muskegon River, Croton Pond, Muskegon Lake, White Lake, and Lake Michigan. $5.00 Main Stage. General Admission. 7:30 p.m.
